It uses superficial dissection within the outer tissue layers, preserving the blood supply and nerve pathways underneath, with the closure placed within the body of the labia rather than at the visible edge.

Flights and Travel from Adelaide

Adelaide to Sydney is approximately a 2 hour flight. Qantas, Virgin Australia and Jetstar operate multiple daily services between Adelaide Airport (ADL) and Sydney Kingsford Smith (SYD), with departures typically available morning, midday and evening. Frequency is lower than the Melbourne or Brisbane routes but still sufficient to choose a flight time that suits a same-day return for consultation, or an early arrival on surgery day. There is a small time difference between Adelaide and Sydney depending on daylight saving.

From Sydney Airport, Bondi Junction is approximately 20 to 30 minutes by taxi or rideshare, or roughly 25 minutes by train via the Airport Line and T4 Eastern Suburbs Line, which terminates at Bondi Junction station beneath Westfield. The clinic is a short walk from there.

Where to Stay in Bondi Junction

Bondi Junction has a good range of accommodation within walking distance of the clinic, including international-branded hotels near Westfield Bondi Junction, serviced apartments suited to stays of several nights, and smaller guesthouses on quiet residential streets nearby. Bondi Beach is a short bus or rideshare ride away, which is a pleasant option once cleared to move around more during recovery.

We do not recommend specific hotels by name. Priorities: a quiet room, a comfortable bed, lift access, and a short walk to the clinic in the first few days after the procedure.

Timing Your Trip

A 7-day cooling-off period applies after your consultation before any procedure can be scheduled. Adelaide patients can usually choose between a two-trip approach or a single longer trip depending on work and family commitments. A typical two-trip schedule: fly to Sydney in the morning, in-person consultation that afternoon, return home the same day. At least seven days later, return to Sydney the day before surgery, surgery as a day procedure, two or three further nights in Sydney for initial recovery, a clinic review, then travel home.

Recovery Considerations for Interstate Patients

Labiaplasty is a 60 to 90 minute day procedure performed under oral sedation or general anaesthetic, decided at consultation. Most patients require 1 to 2 weeks off work, with full activity typically resuming around 6 to 8 weeks. Flying home is usually possible 48 to 72 hours after surgery with clinical clearance, although Dr Konrat will advise based on your individual recovery.

Managing early recovery in Sydney takes some planning — loose clothing, simple meals, a quiet room, and ideally a support person for surgery day and the first night. Once home in Adelaide, the clinic remains available by phone and email, and follow-up appointments can often be arranged by telehealth. Costs for Travelling Patients
